A Turkish citizen burned himself in the central Taksim Square of Istanbul on Tuesday in a protest against Israeli military operation in Gaza Strip.
62-year old Ibrahim Ulucan came to Istanbul from Gumushane province and held protest action in the square at 14.30 by the local time hanging on the neck slogans against Israel. He poured himself with petrol and set on fire. People around and police could interfere immediately and extinguished the fire. Police took Ulucan to the hospital. His face, arms and legs were burned. Mounting the car, Ulucan cried: “Palestine is in flames. Well what if I am burned?!”
