HAMAS agreed with the deployment of Turkish peacekeepers in Gaza Strip, London-based Al-Hayat newspaper said.
An unnamed HAMAS leader said they did not against the deployment of Turkish forces on Gaza borders. He said HAMAS leaders would told Egyptian officials that they were ready to welcome Turkish contingent. HAMAS, calling the international peacekeepers as occupants and protesting their deployment in Gaza, has more confidence in Turkey. The organization is ready for the Turkish deployment only under the condition of lifting of Gaza blockade and opening of all checkpoints.
Turkish Prime Minister Receb Tayyib Erdogan met with HAMAS political leader Khaled Mashal during his visit to Syria.
